Description

Professional IT risk and controls certification training

ISACA CRISC Course UK – Risk and Information Systems Control

The CRISC Course UK prepares IT, cyber security, governance and risk professionals for the current ISACA Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control examination. ACI Learning currently provides a 16-hour-plus CRISC preparation route with four modules, 67 episodes and practice assessment content.

CRISC is built around real IT risk responsibilities rather than purely technical security. It is particularly relevant to professionals who identify technology risk, assess business impact, design and evaluate controls, report risk to stakeholders and align technology decisions with organisational objectives.

Current CRISC Exam Domains

1. Governance – 26%

Organisational strategy, governance structures, policies, standards, enterprise risk management, risk appetite, resilience and regulatory obligations.

2. Risk Assessment – 22%

Threats, vulnerabilities, risk scenarios, business impact analysis, risk registers, inherent and residual risk, and structured risk analysis.

3. Risk Response & Reporting – 32%

Risk treatment plans, control design, control testing, vendor risk, KPIs, KRIs, reporting, monitoring and emerging risk.

4. Technology & Security – 20%

Technology principles, operations, SDLC, data lifecycle, project delivery, resilience, emerging technologies, information security and privacy.

Who Is This CRISC Course UK For?

The course is aimed at professionals whose roles involve technology risk, security controls, governance or business resilience.

  • IT risk analysts and managers
  • Information security and cyber security professionals
  • Governance, risk and compliance specialists
  • IT auditors and assurance professionals
  • Technology managers and project leaders with risk responsibilities
  • Professionals progressing from technical security into risk and governance

CRISC is not positioned as an entry-level cyber security certification. Learners will benefit most when they already understand how organisations use technology, controls and risk management practices.

Important: Exam Eligibility vs Full CRISC Certification

You can prepare for and sit the CRISC examination without already holding the full experience requirement. However, passing the exam does not by itself award the full CRISC certification.

ISACA currently requires a minimum of three years of professional information systems auditing, control or security work experience aligned to the CRISC job-practice areas before the full certification can be awarded. The experience must meet ISACA’s current application rules, and candidates have a defined period after passing the examination in which to apply.

This distinction is important for learners choosing a professional certification route: the course can prepare you for the exam, while ISACA separately determines whether you meet the experience requirements for certification.

CRISC Skills You Can Apply at Work

  • Identify and document technology-related business risks
  • Evaluate likelihood, impact and risk scenarios
  • Support enterprise risk registers and risk treatment plans
  • Select, assess and improve security and technology controls
  • Work with risk owners and control owners
  • Use KRIs, KPIs and control metrics to monitor risk
  • Communicate risk information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assess third-party, supply-chain and emerging-technology risk
